Biography
Jo Shaw is the President of the Careers and Transition Education Association of New Zealand (CATE) and a highly experienced careers practitioner and leader. Currently the Learning Area Head of Pathways at Timaru Girls’ High School, Jo’s work spans frontline practice, professional capability building, and system-level advocacy across Aotearoa New Zealand. With over eight years on the CATE National Executive and a recently completed Graduate Certificate in Career Development (NMIT), she brings a deep, research-informed perspective to sustainable career education. Jo is a fierce advocate for quality, equity, and sustainable implementation of career education in schools, to empower rangatahi to make informed decisions about their future pathways.
