Biography
Ingrid Bårdsdatter Bakke, PhD, is an associate professor at Inland Norway University (INN), campus Lillehammer. Her research focuses on Norwegian and Nordic work culture and how it influences career guidance, policy and the professionalisation of career guidance practice, integrated guidance and career guidance within the welfare system. Bakke has participated in commissioned research projects, both as a researcher and as an external expert. She lectures on the Master’s programme in Career Guidance and supervises students on the Master’s programme and the HELVEL PhD programme. She lectures on career theory, career guidance, national culture, policy and professionalisation.
Øyvind Snipstad, PhD, is an Associate professor in Special education at INN at Campus Lillehammer. His fields of interest are Disability studies, Inclusive education, Vulnerability and philosophy of science. Snipstad is currently leading the research group in Special education at INN.

What do You Want to Be when You Grow Up? Exploring Children’s Early Career Thinking
Biography
Aisling Murray Fleming is Associate Dean of Engagement, Partnerships and Internationalisation in Dublin City University’s Institute of Education and Director of the university’s Guidance Counselling education and training programmes. She recently completed a doctoral study titled What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up: Are We Asking Children the Wrong Question?, which explores early career-related learning among young children in Ireland. Prior to joining DCU, Aisling worked across both business and education sectors, designing and delivering employability and careers education programmes for individuals and groups across the lifespan. Her work focuses on career development, guidance policy, and early career-related learning in educational contexts.

Skills for Work Life: A Case Exploration of a Subject in Norwegian Lower Secondary Education
Biography
Torild Schulstok is a teaching professor and researcher at the Masters program in Career Guidance at University of Inland Norway. She has been involved in the professionalization process of the field of career guidance in Norway for the last twenty years and was one of the editors of a recently published book “Not only good to talk with – on professionalizing the career guidance practitioner role in Norway” (2024). Schulstok was also an active part in developing a national framework for career guidance in Norway. Her research interests have included a wide range of topics, e.g. professionalization, gender equality in career development, social justice, the concept of calling and career opportunities within The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service.
