Biography
Raysen W. L. Cheung, PhD, is Director of the Doctor of Psychology in Counselling Psychology Programme, and an Associate Professor at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. He has 18 years of experience in counselling and counselling psychology education in university settings in Hong Kong and served previously as a university counsellor for over 13 years, specializing in career guidance and counselling.
Dr. Cheung obtained a PhD from Loughborough University, United Kingdom, and is a Registered Counselling Psychologist and a Registered Industrial-Organizational Psychologist of the Hong Kong Psychological Society. He is also a fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society and a fellow of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association. With research interests in vocational psychology, employability, and counselling interventions, he has published in the Journal of Vocational Behavior, the Journal of Career Assessment, the Journal of College Student Development, and the Asian Journal of Counselling. He served as an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Vocational Behavior from 2013 to 2022 and is currently on the Editorial Board of the Australian Journal of Career Development and the Asia Pacific Career Development Journal.

Ting Yan is an Associate Professor in the Foreign Language Department at Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology. She holds a PhD in Education from the University of Central Florida. Her research interests include second language learning, cultural identity, and educational technologies, with a particular focus on learners in transnational and multicultural contexts. She has taught and conducted research in China, the United States, and New Zealand, bringing a comparative and cross-cultural perspective to her work.

Leon (Li-Hsiang) Yang is a PhD candidate in Counseling Psychology at National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. His professional work centers on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with extensive clinical experience applying CBT to anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, and complex family and custody cases. He integrates CBT with play therapy and trauma-informed approaches, emphasizing structured case conceptualization, evidence-based intervention, and culturally responsive practice. In addition to his clinical practice, his research explores disability-affirmative counseling, vocational resilience, and the integration of generative AI in psychotherapy. He has presented at international conferences including APA and ABCT and has multiple articles in press in leading journals. He is a recipient of national doctoral scholarships and a Beck Institute scholarship award.

Hsiu-Lan (Shelley) Tien is Dean of the College of Education and Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling at National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. She received her PhD in Counselor Education from the University of Iowa and is a licensed counseling psychologist in Taiwan. Her scholarship focuses on career development, career adaptability, life design, and counselor training and supervision, with additional work on cultural issues and wellbeing. A Fulbright Scholar, she has published extensively in leading journals and edited volumes and has led multiple national research projects. She has held major professional leadership roles in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region and serves on editorial boards of international journals, including Psychotherapy Research and Career Development Quarterly.
